The third issue of CADERNOS analyzes the work of one of the most read Brazilian authors in the world in three aspects: literary (by Eduardo de Assis Duarte), political (Fábio Lucas) and socio-anthropological (Roberto DaMatta). The "Unpublished" section features the opening scenes of The universal apostasy of Água Brusca, with illustrations by Carybé; After dying in 2001, the writer left the novel unfinished. Alongside photos of Salvador and Ilhéus, fictional settings by Bahian Jorge Amado, testimonials by Darcy Ribeiro, Nelson Pereira dos Santos, Celso Furtado, Alice Raillard, Mario Vargas Llosa and Oscar Niemeyer are also part of the edition.
