This book accurately analyzes the diplomatic relationship between Brazil and Angola during the Brazilian Military Dictatorship. It demystifies many of the opinions that emerged without any epistemological support about why Brazil was the first country to recognize the independence of Angola, on November 11, 1975, the result of a liberation movement supported by Cuba and other socialist countries. For this, the diplomatic action of the Brazilian ambassador in Angola, Ovídio de Andrade Melo, was decisive.
