Descrição
Vertebrate Paleontology: Relations Between South America and Africa seeks to understand the distribution patterns of different groups of vertebrates in the pre-rift, rift and post-rift phases, that is, how they occupied different spaces in Pangea, Gondwana and the continents that formed after the final breakup. We begin the journey with a brief introduction to Historical Biogeography. We set off into the seas and oceans with sharks and rays. We return to the continent with basal tetrapods and cynodonts and we go to the rupture of West Gondwana. With the opening of the South Atlantic Ocean, we address marine and freshwater ichthyofauna, terrestrial tetrapods, such as turtles, crocodiles and dinosaurs, in addition to flying pterosaurs.
